People are so rough with their pain. We ignore it, lock it away, cover it up. We do anything we can to hide it and pretend it doesn’t exist.
Pain is like a newborn baby. A delicate and fragile teacher, the result of some violent trauma, pain need to be swaddled and held and looked at so closely and tenderly and to be told that “everything’s gonna be ok.” How else can you expect it to mature so that one day you may confidently let it go?
